I’m pretty sure I’ve had this book for a year or so but am just getting the opportunity to read it. According to my home girl Amazon:
This book presents the powerful basics of the original Teachings of Abraham. Within these pages, you’ll learn how all things, wanted and unwanted, are brought to you by this most powerful law of the universe, the Law of Attraction. (that which is like unto itself is drawn). You’ve most likely heard the saying “Like attracts like,” “Birds of a feather flock together,” or “It is done unto you as you believe” (a belief is only a thought you keep thinking); and although the Law of Attraction has been alluded to by some of the greatest teachers in history, it has never before been explained in as clear and practical terms as in this latest book by New York Times best-selling authors, Esther and Jerry Hicks.
Learn here about the omnipresent Laws that govern this Universe and how to make them work to your advantage. The understanding that you’ll achieve by reading this book will take all the guesswork out of daily living. You’ll finally understand just about everything that’s happening in your own life as well as in the lives of those you’re interacting with. This book will help you to joyously be, do, or have anything that you desire!
I don’t remember what prompted me to buy this book but it was likely during a time I wanted to make some changes in my life. Apparently, I did some research on the authors because I have another book of theirs (that I have yet to read) entitled “Ask and it is Given: Learning to Manifest Your Desires.”
Last weekend, I dived into the book without rereading the summary or the table of contents. Once I started reading, the name Abraham kept emerging. I assumed it was a biblical reference but turns out it’s more like a crew of spirit guides or guardian angels?
And this is where I loose some of my religious friends… Please gather your things and exit the room quietly.
This book is comprised of 5 sections: Path to Abraham, The Law of Attraction, Deliberate Creation, Allowing, and Segment Intending. Not to give too much away but a lot of the text comes directly from Abraham. At first, I was a bit uncomfortable because I couldn’t fully comprehend how he was using Esther but it didn’t matter after a while. And, the reason it didn’t is because the laws are applicable regardless of your beliefs. These include but aren’t limited to positive thinking, owning and creating your own experiences, the quest for happiness, the application of these laws and principles to your surrounding environment, and manifestations.
Not only do I like this book but I pulled out my highlighter and started to treat it like a study guide to life. For example:
“In order for things to change, you have to see them as you want them to be rather than continuing to observe them as they are.”
“Can you not see the value of spending 10 or 15 minutes every day deliberately setting forth powerful thoughts that evoke great powerful, passionate, positive emotion in order to attract circumstances and events into your life experience that are to your wanting?”
