GUIDE TO BINGE-WATCHING & IGNORING YOUR FAMILY

In the event your Thanksgiving break sucks, I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorite fall shows in no particular order:

The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead

Maybe you’ve been living under a rock. Maybe you have a real life. Maybe you don’t love yourself. Whatever the reason, you’re missing out if you’re not apart of the cult following that is the Walking Dead. The Walking Dead is described as a horror drama based on a comic book series about the post-apocalyptic world featuring zombies. Lots and lots of zombies.

This past summer, we got a treat with Fear the Walking Dead which serves as a “it just got real” aka prequel to the Walking Dead. There is an additional Fear the Walking Dead while flying Southwest Airlines Flight 462 but I haven’t watched it yet.  This may be the week for it. For more info, visit AMC.

Master of None

My husband suggested we try this show so naturally, I thought it sucked. Well, for the first time in history I was wrong. Master of None is a comedy series created by and staring actor and comedian Aziz Ansari as a…actor trying to make it in New York City. You can catch this show on Netflix where all 10 episodes dropped at the same damn time. For more info, visit Netflix.

American Horror Story

American Horror Story is an anthology horror television series created and produced by Ryan Murphy of Glee, Nip/Tuck, The New Normal and Scream Queens. I favor Season 1: Murder House and Season 3: The Coven.  Whichever season you choose to start at, you may need to say a prayer after you watch.  It can be quite alarming but I continue to tune in.  However, I have a great alternative for you: Scream Queens. Scream Queens is mostly hilarious; although, there is a mass murderer on campus. For more info on both, visit FX and Fox.

The Leftovers

Continuing the theme of dark shows, I present the Leftovers based on a novel of the same name. This show is about life after the “sudden departure” which caused the disappearance of 140 million people. Season 2 has been awesome.  If you don’t have HBO, borrow someone else’s account info (not mine). For more, visit HBO.

The Royals

This show has gotten a lot of terrible reviews but I love it.  And, they’ve made it to season 2.  That counts for something, right? So, the Royals are considered an American drama but its about a British royal family? There are lies, scandal, sex, drugs and murder. For more, visit E!

The Vampire Diaries and The Originals

The Vampires Diaries is an oldie but goody.  They are now in their 7th season! If the name didn’t give it away, its about Vampires… And, witchcraft, wolves, etc. These people can’t catch a break.

The Originals is a spin-off of the Vampire Diaries and is about the world’s first vampires who happen to be based in my favorite city: New Orleans. They’re also caught in the same bull as Vampire Diaries but with a second line in the background.  For more, visit CW.

Honorable mention goes to Jane the Virgin, Marvel’s Jessica Jones, Nashville, Empire, Finding Carter and everything Shonda Rhimes has written.  This list could’ve gone on forever but I have to pack for my own Thanksgiving trip.  I hope you guys have an awesome Thanksgiving!

I am 92% done with the new site: pinkgumbeaux.com. Although I will continue to have a presence on Blogger, it will no longer be my main blog *insert tears here* Till then, you know I need friends so “like” Pink Gumbeaux on Facebook and follow me on Twitter, Instagram, Rabadaba, and StumbleUpon. While you’re at it, check out my last post: Faux Product 2: Vitamin Plus.
