If you’re reading this, you know I’ve made it through my first holiday with the in-laws (Read: In-Law Starter Kit: Thanksgiving Edition). Instead of giving a synopsis from my perspective, I decided to interview my husband.
Hello Husband, welcome to Pink Gumbeaux!
For the last few days or so, I’ve been with you and your family celebrating Thanksgiving. On a scale of 1-5, 5 being the highest, how did I do?
What are some of the highlights?
Well, your stuffed bell peppers were amazing, people were trying to hide them from each other. You hung out with my friends. And, you rode behind my Dad for a total of 6 to 8 hours going to and coming from Houston. For me, it was watching Big Freedia (The Queen Diva) with your mom. I thought she was going to have a heart attack.
Yes. My poor, sweet, sweet mother. You’ve exposed her to too much, she wasn’t ready. What else?
I give you an A for effort, I know family is not really your thing but I’m happy you tried.
There was a slight discussion regarding when we would have kids, I see your family hasn’t gotten the “it ain’t none of your business ” memo. What do you think?
I tried to look the other way when they mentioned that because I didn’t want to look at your facial expressions.
Don’t mind me, I’m just trying to finish a PhD… Any who, is there something I should work on for the next holiday with the in-laws?
- It’s OK to make eye contact.
- Leave your phone in the car.
- Work on having more than four word conversations.
- Tap into your inner Victoria (inside joke).
What are your expectations with my (less demanding) family for Christmas?
I don’t have any, I go with the flow. As long as you feed me and not allow me to get shot in New Orleans, I’ll be fine.
I am 92% done with the new site: pinkgumbeaux.com. Although I will continue to have a presence on Blogger, it will no longer be my main blog *insert tears here* Till then, you know I need friends so “like” Pink Gumbeaux on Facebook and follow me on Twitter, Instagram, Rabadaba, and StumbleUpon. While you’re at it, check out my last post: Guide to Binge Watching & Ignoring Your Family.
