After 6 years of being natural, I’m finally detangling (and often).  I heard about the wonders of it but it didn’t really take until I knew what to use and how to use it.Why I like it?

  • Eliminates fizz
  • Reduces breakage
  • Reduces shedding

I’ve been washing my hair every 4 days and I have…maybe five curls that shed each time.  Any who, let’s get to the products and steps.  And, keep in mind, it’s easier to do this in the shower!

Step1: Apply Crème of Nature (or a conditioner of your choice).  I use Crème of Nature conditioner as shampoo then I leave a little in.

Step 2: Drag your fingers through your hair under running water.

Step 3: Apply Olive Oil and leave in.

Step 4: Apply   Dark & Lovely’s Au Naturale anti-shrinkage Curl Defining Creme Glaze.  You should also drag your fingers to ensure the product is even dispersed.

So, at this point it’s up to you to let it air dry or use a diffuser.  For me, it depends on my plans for that day.  If I’m running errands or at home, I’ll allow it to air dry.

Disclaimer: Because your hair will be saturated with products, it will be very white and wet.  It’s up to you if you want to go out like that.  I usually role my windows down as I’m running errands and all the conditioner is absorbed in 20 minutes (but it’s still wet).

Another important step, I DO NOT DRY MY HAIR WITH A TOWEL.  This is the little devil that gives you frizz.  If you have to dry, use a t-shirt instead.

Disclaimer 2: This method does not reduce shrinkage, however, you have very fresh and shiny curls.  Of course, it’s up to you how you want to style you hair.  I wear mines out most of the time and twist every night with a little more Olive Oil and Taliah Waajid’s Curly Curl Cream.

Side note: I have 4 A,B & C curl patterns.
